John Wayne Gunter

Mr. John Wayne Gunter, age 17, of Cleveland passed away Thursday, May 01, 2008 at Northeast Georgia Medical center following a brief illness. Mr. Gunter was born on March 22, 1991 to Wayne Allen Gunter and Linda Steinbrecher. He was in the 10th grade at White County High School. He was on the football team, track team, wrestling team and ROTC/Raiders. He was also preceded in death by a sister: Selina Smith. He was a member of The Torch. Survivors: mother: Linda Pinson Steinbrecher, Cleveland; father and stepmother: Wayne & Purple Gunter, Gainesville; brother & sister-in-law: Torrey Allen & Jewell Pinson, Cleveland; sister and brother-in-law: Felicia Elizabeth & Jake Chambers, Cleveland; half-brothers: Christopher Gunter and Johnny Gunter, Cumming; step-brother, Cody Martin, Gainesville; maternal grandmother: Betty Hembree, Lula; paternal grandmother: Gloria Surratt, Lithia Springs; paternal grandfather: Allen Gunter, Mississippi; nieces: Harley Smith and MacKenzie Chambers; and nephews: Caden Pinson, Grayson, Pinson, Payton Chambers & Ashton Chambers. Funeral services will be held a 2:00 PM on Sunday, May 4, 2008 in the Chapel of Barrett Funeral Home with the Rev. Clifford Allen, Rev. Larmon Barron and Rev. Richard Thomas officiating. The family will receive friends from 12-4 and 6-9 on Saturday at the funeral home.
