John Joel Abraham Jones

Mr. John Joel Abraham Jones, age 29 of Sautee, passed away on Friday, June 13, 2008. Born in Stephens County, Georgia on April 09, 1979, he was the son of Ruel Floyd Jones of Cleveland and Priscilla Wilkins Jones of Sautee. Mr. Jones was a salesman with A-1 Title Pawn, a member of Community Chapel Church in Dahlonega and attended the Mt. Vernon Fire Baptized Holiness Church in Demorest. He also was a volunteer firefighter with the White County Fire Department, Station 3 and a Mason. Mr. Jones was preceded in death by his sisters, Betty Lee Jones Power, Pepper Lee Jones, grandparents, J.M. and Odessia Wilkins, and John Samp and Myrtle Jones. Survivors other than his parents include his brother, Floyd Lee Jones, Sautee; aunts, Mary Sheikh, Margaret Strong, both of Michigan; Geneva Hoyle, Habersham; Dorothy Watkins, North Carolina; uncles, Nathan Wilkins, Edward Wilkins, Harvey Wilkins, Ronald Wilkins, all of Michigan; Grant Jones, Verlon Jones, both of North Carolina; close friend, Jeff Satterfield, Sautee; many other relatives, friends, and extended family. Funeral services are scheduled for 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, June 18, 2008 from the Chapel of Barrett Funeral Home. The Rev. Lester Haynes, the Rev. Jack Enloe, and the Rev. Scott McQueen will officiate. Interment will follow in Yonah Memorial Gardens in Demorest. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 2-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. on Tuesday and on Wednesday until the funeral hour.
