John (Tim) Barrett

John Edward (Tim) Barrett, age 75, of Harlem, Ga, formerly of Cleveland, passed away on Monday, September 7, 2026.

Mr. Barrett was born on January 4, 1951, in Gainesville, Georgia, to the late Henry and Nell Gorman Barrett. He grew up in Cleveland and was a graduate of White County High School. Tim started the first Terminix Pest Control office in Augusta, Georgia, and was past president of the Pest Control Association. He was a veteran of the United States Air Force. In addition to his parents, Tim was preceded in death by his brother, Pete Barrett; sisters, Carol Ann Crawford and Janelle Black.

Survivors include his wife, Kathryn Morris Barrett, Harlem; daughter and son-in-law, Shannon and Chris Chastain; son, Clint Barrett; sister-in-law, Hazel Barrett; brother-in-law, Leroy Black.

Funeral services are scheduled for 2:00 P.M. Thursday, September 10, 2026, at The Chapel of Barrett Funeral Home. The Rev. Dennis Turner will officiate. Interment will follow in Gateway Memory Park.

The family will receive friends from 1:00 – 2:00 P.M. Thursday, September 10, 2026, at the funeral home, prior to the funeral service.
