Johnnie Mae Palmer 95 of Beech Bottom, WV passed away on Sunday, February 18, 2007 at Peterson Hospital and Rehabilitation Center after a brief illness.
She was born on May 2, 1911 in Shoal Creek Community near Cleveland, GA the daughter of the late Jason Lee Brown and Lillie Caroline Whisenant Brown. She is also preceded in death by her husband, Charlie Virgil Palmer on January 17, 1997, four sisters, Annie Hazel Brown, Mary Lois Brown, Pauline West, and Lillian Ferguson, and her two brothers, Garland Brown, and Harold Brown.
Johnnie Mae was a Baptist and was a member of the Shoal Creek Baptist Church in Shoal Creek. She was a 70 year resident of Beech Bottom, WV a steelworker’s wife, and a homemaker. She enjoyed working in her yard and planting vegetable and flower gardens. She especially loved people and enjoyed visiting with her neighbors and many family members and friends.
Surviving are two daughters, Jeanene Palmer and husband, Lee of Dover, OH
Charlotte Palmer of Canonsburg, PA; four grandchildren, Darrell Denbow and wife, Jackie; Debra Kleindienst and husband Bill; Douglas Denbow and Dena Short and husband, Mike, five great-grandchildren, Jason Denbow, Nicole Denbow, Miranda Denbow, Haley Short, and Nathan Short all of Dover, OH; brothers, Howard “Curley” Brown and wife, Louise and Ralph Brown and wife, Christine both of Shoal Creek.
Funeral services are scheduled for 1:00 p.m. on Friday, February 23, 2007 at the Shoal Creek Baptist Church. The Rev. Joe Vernon will officiate. Interment will follow in the Church Cemetery.
