Johnny passed away peacefully at home with his family surrounding him. He was a hard worker of Cabell Huntington Hospital of 25+ years. He was a loving and caring husband, father, son, brother, uncle, and most of all an awesome PawPaw. His grandchildren and foster daughter were his world. He had a passion for making wooden bowls on his lathe. He was the former president of HSMM (Heaven Saints Motorcycle Ministry) and adored the book of Psalms. He was preceded in death by his daughter, Shellie Rena Adkins; son, Toby Keith Adkins; grandparents, Millard and Myrtle Adkins, Lewis Walron Chapman, and Iva Maude Chapman; mother-in-law and father-in-law Homer Edwards and Wanda (Woodrum) Edwards; and sister-in-law, Wilma Edwards. Survivors include his wife, Marsha Lynn E. Adkins of Cleveland, GA. She was his high school/childhood sweetheart. His son, Jonathan Adkins of Cleveland, GA; grandchildren, Shaylynn Adkins and Jaden Adkins; mother and father, Roy and Melissa (Chapman) Adkins of Scottown, Ohio; brothers, Donovan and Christina (Black) Adkins of Scottown, Ohio and Wayborn Adkins of Bidwell, Ohio; nieces, Sherry (Lawson) Sexton of Fort Gay, WV (Johnny was her #1 “Uncle Bubby”), Erin Adkins of Scottown, Ohio; nephews, Danny Lawson of Ironton, Ohio and Jacob Adkins of Scottown, Ohio. He had many family members and friends who loved him dearly.
