Johnny Elgin Westmoreland, age 72, of Helen, passed away on Sunday, January 21, 2024. Mr. Westmoreland was born on May 15, 1951, in Stroud, Oklahoma, to the late Ed and Wilma Henley Westmoreland. He worked for Georgia DOT and was a member of Center Baptist Church. Johnny was also a 50-year Master Mason and loved to watch westerns. Survivors include his wife of 51 years, Jane Westmoreland; daughter, Sheila Berry; son and daughter-in-law, Elgin and Lynn Westmoreland; grandchildren, Brooke Edwards, Nate Berry, Mason Westmoreland, Joseph Westmoreland, and Austin Thomas; great-grandchildren, Emersyn Edwards and Presley Edwards; sister, Pat Shepherd; numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, and extended family also survive. Funeral services are scheduled for 2:00 P.M. Wednesday, January 24, 2024. At Center Baptist Church. The Rev. Michael Wilkes and the Rev. Wayne Turk will officiate. Interment will follow in Center Baptist Church Cemetery.
