Joseph Benny Sears

Joseph Benny Sears, age 83, of Cleveland, passed away on Monday, February 14, 2022. Mr. Sears was born on January 6, 1939, to the late John Henry and Etta Harkins Sears. He was a self-employed carpenter. In addition to his parents, Benny was preceded in death by his daughter, Lisa Wilson; siblings, Grady Sears, John A. Sears, Roy Sears, Euell Sears, Barbara Ann Thomas, Ruby Bryant, Eunice and Loy Sutton, Bernice and Ray Dean Gooch. Survivors include his wife, Laura Sears, Cleveland; daughters, Audrey Sears, Michelle Chandler, Tracy Thomas (Eric), Rita Tolbert; son, Jerry Lowe; sister, Grace Davenport (Jimmy); brother-in-law, Dennis Bryant; 13 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren. Joint funeral services for Benny and Lisa are scheduled for 2:00 P.M. Friday, February 18, 2022, at The Chapel of Barrett Funeral Home. The Rev. Chris Anderson will officiate. Interment will follow in Shoal Creek Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 4:00 – 7:00 P.M. Thursday at the funeral home.
