Joseph Phillip "Joe" Boyd Sr.

Joseph (Joe) Phillip Boyd Sr. age 99, of Cleveland passed away Saturday March 3, 2018.   Mr. Boyd was born in Henry County Georgia the son of the late William Green and Sally Hutchins Boyd. He was the owner and operator of Boyd’s Repair Service for 35 plus years. Mr. Boyd was a Veteran of the U.S. Navy serving in World War II and served on the USS Washington and later entered the Merchant Marines. He was a member of Welcome Worship Center.   Survivors include his wife, Fidelina Boyd, Cleveland; son, Joseph Phillip Boyd Jr., Cleveland, Osman Romero, Cleveland; daughters, Mackey Hooper, Murfreesboro, TN., Lyn Doran (George), Stratham, NH., Jean Boyd Burroughs, Gainesville, Gina Maria Wood, Gainesville; 6 grandchildren, 12 great grandchildren, 2 great great grandchildren.   The family will receive friends 5-7 pm Monday at the funeral home.   Funeral services will be held at 12 noon Tuesday March 6, 2018 at Welcome Worship Center. The Rev. Jimmy Peck will officiate.
