Joseph (Jack) Henry Young Jr.

Mr. Joseph (Jack) Henry Young Jr. age 73 of Cleveland passed away Sunday, February 17. 2008 at his residence. Mr. Young was born in White County December 26, 1934 to the late Joseph (Joe) Henry Young Sr. and Pauline Satterfield Young. He was preceded in death by two sisters, Joann Harkins, Betty Burgess, and brother, Richard Young. Mr. Young served in the United States Air Force. He worked with Pardue Brothers Construction for many, many years until his retirement. Jack was a White County resident all of his life and was a member of Tesnatee Baptist Church. Survivors include his wife of 49 years, Janice Young, Cleveland; three sons and daughters in law, Dana and Patty Young, Daryl Young, Cleveland, Neal and Pam Young, all of Cleveland; three brothers and sisters in law, Edward and Ginny Young, Dennis and Liz Young, Phil and Melanie Young, all of Cleveland; eight grandchildren, Craig and Gina Young, Blairsville, Jeremy and Mandy Young, Fort Carson, CO, Calvin and Crystal Miller, Dahlonega, A.J. Young, John Young, Emily Young, Alex Young, Alan Young, all of Cleveland; five great grandchildren, Hunter and Griffin Young, Blairsville, Gunnar Young, CO., Savana and Blake Miller, Dahlonega; many nieces and nephews also survive. Funeral services will be held at 12 noon Wednesday February 20, 2008 at the Chapel of Barrett Funeral Home. The Rev. Joseph Dover and the Rev. Don Hood will officiate. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society. The family will receive friends 6-9 p.m. Monday and 2-4 and 6-9 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
