Joseph Benjamin Mcginty, Jr.

Joseph Benjamin McGinty, Jr., age 85 of Hiram, Georgia, passed away on Sunday, March 25, 2018.   Mr. McGinty was born on June 1, 1932, in Atlanta, Georgia to the late Joseph Benjamin McGinty, Sr. and Jean Greear McGinty (affectionately known as Miss Jean). He was a retired executive for the Coca-Cola Company to whom he remained loyal. Joe graduated from the University of Georgia and was a lifetime Bulldog fan. Mr. McGinty was also a veteran of the United States Air Force having served during the Korean War. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife and mother of his daughter, June Marcell McGinty.   Survivors include his daughter and son-in-law, Betty Jean (Bee Jee) McGinty and Gene Arthur Pound, Jr., Hiram, Georgia; former wife, Mary McLanahan-McGinty and her children, Billy Colley, Margaret Hart, and their children; beloved cousins and numerous other family members also survive.   Funeral services are scheduled for 2:00 P.M. Saturday, March 31, 2018 at The Chapel of Barrett Funeral Home. Interment will follow at Yonah View Memorial Gardens.   The family will receive friends from 12:00 – 2:00 P.M.
