Joseph Ralph Painter

Mr. Joseph Ralph Painter, age 62 of Clarkesville passed away Monday, December 29, 2008 at his home. Mr. Painter was born on September 10, 1946 to the late William and Grace Whitmire Painter. Mr. Painter was a truck driver for 31 years and he loved to sell peanuts and tell stories and was called “Uncle Joe” by most who knew him. He was a member of Liberty Baptist Church in Dawsonville. Survivors include his son and daughter in law: Scott & Melissa Painter, Baldwin; sisters: Katie Key, Commerce, Frances Moore and Sue McDonald both of Cleveland and sisters and brothers-in-law: Vickie & Gerald Foster, Baldwin and Sarah & Donald Findley, Royston; brothers; David & Peggy Painter, Homer; Charles & Sara Painter, Waverly, TN; granddaughter Jessie Painter and grandson, Ethan Painter both of Baldwin along with several nieces and nephews. Memorial services will be held at 11:00 am on Friday, January 2, 2008 from the chapel of Barrett Funeral Home with the Rev. Paul Flynn officiating. The family will receive friends from 10:00 to 11:00 am prior to the service on Friday.
