Joseph Ray Collins

Joseph Ray Collins, age 90 of Cleveland, passed away Friday, May 04, 2012 at Gateway Health and Rehabilitation Center following an extended illness. Mr. Collins was born August 12, 1921 in Union County to the late Virgil Candler and Minnie Magnolia Henson Collins. He was a retired mail carrier for the postal service and was a member of White Creek Baptist Church. Mr. Collins was preceded in death by his wife Sallie Mae Collins, sister Ruby Pirkle and brother Howard Collins. Survivors include his son and daughter in law, Lamar and June Collins, Cleveland; daughter, Latrelle Youngblood, Cleveland; granddaughters and spouses, Kelli and David Usher, Cleveland; Casey and Joey Caddell, Pittsburgh, PA; great-grandchildren, Madison Pollitt and Addison Caddell. Funeral services are scheduled for 3:00 PM Sunday, May 6, 2012 from the Chapel of Barrett Funeral Home. The Rev. Lewis Fortner and the Rev. Bill Lawson will officiate. Interment will follow in Friendship Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 4-8 PM Saturday at the funeral home.
