Joyce Marilyn Gann

Joyce Marilyn Gann, age 84 of Dallas, Georgia, passed away on Monday, April 9, 2019. Mrs. Gann was born on February 20, 1935, in Mt. Airy, to the late Walter and Evelyn Sanders Davis. She was retired from the insurance profession and a member of Cleveland First Baptist Church where she formerly served as a Sunday School teacher and a nursery worker. Joyce was also a WMU Director and a former volunteer for the Red Cross at Egleston Hospital and the Smith Home for Special Needs Children in Decatur, Georgia. She had a great love for her First Baptist Church family in Cleveland, Georgia. Joyce will be remembered as a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She was preceded in death by her husband, Bob Gann; son, Michael Gann; sisters, Mildred Bassett, Ann Burt, and Doris Taylor. Survivors include her sons and daughters-in-law, Dale and Vickie Gann, Tyrone, GA, Wesley and Vivian Gann, Dallas, GA; granddaughter and grandson-in-law, Traci and Greg Wombough, Peachtree City, GA; grandson and granddaughter-in-law, David and Kelly Gann, Suwanee, GA; great-grandsons, Ben Wombough and Sam Wombough, Peachtree City, GA. Funeral services are scheduled for 11:00 AM Friday, April 12, 2019 at the Chapel of Barrett Funeral Home. The Rev. Dennis Turner will officiate. Interment will follow at New Liberty Methodist Church Cemetery in Clarkesville, Georgia. The family will receive friends from 5:00 – 7:00 PM Thursday at the funeral home.
