A Life of Service and Education

Born on January 30, 1936, in Hoschton, Georgia, Joyce was the daughter of the late Clyde and Hester Cronic. Growing up in a large family, she developed a strong sense of community and compassion that would define her entire life.

Joyce’s professional life was characterized by a heart for others. She spent early years as a dedicated elementary school teacher, where she shared her love of learning and helped shape the minds of future generations. Later in life she returned to college and began a new career in social work, where her natural empathy and advocacy for those in need made a lasting impact on the community.

Her commitment to service extended deeply into her spiritual life at the Trinity United Methodist Church in Augusta, GA. and at the Cleveland United Methodist Church in Cleveland, GA. Over many decades, she served the church in numerous capacities, finding joy and purpose in her faith and her congregation.
