J.R. James Richardson Sosebee

Mr. J.R. “Joseph Richardson” Sosebee, age 88 of Sautee-Nacoochee, passed away Tuesday, March 15, 2011 at Northeast Georgia Medical Center. Mr. Sosebee was born in White County on November 18, 1922 to the late Oscar Lee & Minnie Goss Sosebee. He earned the Purple Heart while serving in the U.S. Army in WWII. He worked as a logger and was self employed in the grading business. Mr. Sosebee was also preceded in death by his wife, Nellie Sosebee, brothers, Hugh and Hoyt Sosebee; sisters: Rose Marie Sosebee and Minnie Lee Sosebee. Survivors include: son & daughter in law: Joseph (Jackie) Richardson and Brenda Sosebee, Jr., Cleveland; daughter & son in law: Delores Rebecca & Stanley Ansley, Fairburn; daughter & son in law: Ramona Jeanette & Dennis Newton, Sautee; son & daughter in law: James Edward & Carolyn Sosebee, Sautee; daughter & son in law: Mary Ann & Earl Dean Anderson, Cleveland; sister, Katherine Elizabeth Sosebee, Sautee; 13 grandchildren, 21 great grandchildren and several nieces & nephews. Funeral services will be held 2 p.m. Thursday, March 17, 2011 from the Chapel of Barrett Funeral Home. The Rev. Milton Harris, Dr. Dan Windham and Rev. Lyndon Eubanks will officiate. Interment will follow in Nacoochee United Methodist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 4-9pm on Wednesday, March 16, 2011 at the funeral home.
