Judy Cathey

Judy Dean Cathey, age 63, of Cleveland, passed away on Thursday, January 21, 2021. Mrs. Cathey was born on July 31, 1957, in Habersham County, to the late Sandy and Bonnie Lou Pilgrim Dean. She was retired from the restaurant business. In addition to her parents, Judy was preceded in death by her husband, Gregory “Skip” Cathey; brother, Verlon Dean. Survivors include her son and daughter-in-law, Jeremy and Kelly Cathey, Cleveland; grandchildren, Grayson Cathey and Paisley Cathey; siblings and their spouses, Brenda and Gary Heffner, Cleveland, Sharon and Ed Malcom, Clarkesville, Patricia and Richard Savage, Seneca, SC, and Jimmy Dean, Cleveland; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Skeet and Beth Cathey, Jefferson, and Jeff and Zulene Cathey, Sautee; special friends, Katie and Roper Kimbrell; numerous nieces and nephews and an untold number of friends also survive. The family would like to express many thanks to Judy’s caregiver, Shelley Lockwood. Funeral services are scheduled for 2:00 P.M. Sunday, January 24, 2021 at the Chapel of Barrett Funeral Home. The Rev. Gary Heffner and Mr. Baylon Mitchell will officiate. Interment will follow at Gateway Memory Park. The family will receive friends from 1:00 – 2:00 P.M. Sunday at the funeral home, prior to the funeral service. The family requests that social distancing rules be strictly followed and that masks be worn.
