June S. Morris

Mrs. June S. Morris age 81 of Cleveland, Georgia, passed away Tuesday, April 08, 2014 at Habersham County Medical Center.    June was born in Laurel, Mississippi the daughter of the late Howard Roscoe and Lillian Mauldin Slay. She was a loving, caring, thoughtful, intelligent Christian.  June enjoyed making people laugh and also loved her cats.   She was an avid Atlanta Braves fan and loved talking baseball with friends.  June was a retired bookkeeper and wrote a much loved column for the White County News for many years.  She was a very active member of Cleveland United Methodist Church and the United Methodist Women  for 33 years.   Survivors include her husband, Bill Morris, Cleveland, Georgia; sister, Beth Boykin, Laurel, Mississippi; nephew, Rob Johnson, Griffin, Georgia; niece, Jackie Williams, Fairburn, Georgia; niece, Mary Brannon, Lawrenceville, Georgia.   Graveside services will be held at 11:00 A.M. Friday April 11, 2014 at Yonah View Memorial Gardens. Memorial services will be held at 2:00 P.M. Friday April 11, 2014 at Cleveland United Methodist Church. The Rev. Leland Bagwell and Dr. Steve Winter will officiate.    The family will receive friends 6-8 P.M.
