Mrs. Karen Brooks Henderson, age 64 of Tampa, Florida formerly of Cleveland entered into rest on February 26, 2008 after a long battle with Polycystic Kidney Disease.
Born in Georgia, Mrs. Henderson went to live in Tampa Bay in 1986 from the Atlanta area. She was a graduate of the Georgia Baptist School of Nursing, and was a devoted to her profession for over 40 years, the last 20 years being at Brandon Regional Hospital. Mrs. Henderson was a member of the Florida Nursing Association, a loyal Christian, and was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Brandon.
Survivors include her husband of 38 years, Charles W. Henderson, Jr. of Valrico; daughter and son-in-law, Jodi and Jon Stone, Lithia; son and fiancé, Charles W. “Charlie” Henderson III and Christie Ebner, Tampa; grandchildren, Charles W. “Charlie” IV and Abbey Henderson, Brook, Alexis “Karyrn”, and Savannah Stone; brothers and sister-in-laws, Jack and Bev Brooks, Riverview; David and Jane Brooks, Rome, GA; sisters and brother-in-laws, Marilyn and Sid Willis, St. Simons Island; Dorian and Erwin Dillard, Big Canoe, GA.
Graveside services are scheduled for 3:00 p.m. on Tuesday, March 04, 2008 at the Cleveland Cemetery.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 6-8 p.m. on Monday.
In lieu of flowers the family requests that all donations be made to the Polycystic Kidney Foundation.
