Mrs. Karen Lynn Bryan age 45 of Jasper formerly of Cleveland, passed away at Union General Hospital on Sunday October 5, 2008. Mrs. Bryan was born in Hall County the daughter of Betty Goss Abernathy and the late Winfred Abernathy. She was a previous resident of Cleveland. Survivors include her husband, Shannon Bryan, Jasper; son, Shannon Bryan Jr., Jasper; daughter, Christina Helton, Cleveland; step daughter, Megan Elizabeth Bryan, New York; mother, Betty Abernathy, Cleveland; brother, David Abernathy, Cleveland; sisters, Wanda Faye Brewster, Dahlonega, Rhonda Carter, Cleveland; grandmother, Beatrice Goss, Gainesville; grandson, Andrew Fate Lee Grimes Jr.; aunts and uncles, Sue Goss, Janie Long, Charles and Gwen Goss, Michael Goss; several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m. Wednesday October 8, 2008 at the Chapel of Barrett Funeral Home. The Rev. Patrick Ballington and Rev. Tim Tanner will officiate. Burial will follow in Liberty Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends 4-9 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
