Kate Lou Chastain

Kate Lou Chastain, age 84 of Sautee, passed away Thursday, June 14, 2012 at Habersham Home East. Mrs. Chastain was born April 28, 1928 in Hiawassee to the late Jimmy and Vassie Taylor Garrett. She was a hair dresser and a member of Union Baptist Church. Mrs. Chastain was preceded in death by her husband, William Barney Chastain, brother Calvin Garrett, sister Evie Adams. Survivors include her daughter, Debbie Chastain, Cleveland; daughter and son-in-law, Janice and Bill Proctor, Toccoa; grandchildren, Misty and Aaron Weiland; Justin Sims; Tracey and Tony Bennett; Todd and Stacey Proctor; great-grandchildren McKenzie Proctor, Ollie Kate Weiland, Zella Rae Weiland, Oren Sims; sisters, Loraine Hallford, Sue Shelnut, Ginger Brown; brothers, Vaughn Garrett and Bud Garrett. Funeral services are scheduled for 1:00 PM Saturday, June 16, 2012 at the Chapel of Barrett Funeral Home. The Rev. Guy Williamson, the Rev. Marvin Beasley and Mr. Jeff Shelnut will officiate.
