Kathy Thompson Buckalew

Kathy Thompson Buckalew, 66 of Woodland, GA passed away at her home on Monday March 13, 2023. Kathy was born May 27, 1956, in Gainesville, GA the daughter of Johnny and Ada Corbin Thompson. She was a homemaker most of her life. She also was a certified nurse's assistant and had worked in retail for many years. Kathy was a member of the Mt. Pisgah Baptist Church in Cleveland, GA. She enjoyed gardening, animals and watching NASCAR. Kathy was the youngest of thirteen siblings. She was preceded in death by her parents and husband Kenneth Buckalew and eight siblings. She is survived by her siblings Mac Thompson of Gillsville, GA, Shelia Thompson of Demorest, GA, Opal Shelnut and Diane (Frank) Christy all of Cleveland, GA several nieces and nephews and best friend and adopted sister Patty Wester of Woodland, GA. Funeral services for Mrs. Buckalew will be held 11:00 am Wednesday, March 15, 2023, at the Chapel of Cox Funeral Home 93 Prather Barnes Road Manchester, GA 31816. The family will receive friends at the service. A Graveside services will be held 11:00 am Thursday, March 16, 2023 at Mt. Pisgah Baptist Church Cemetery in Cleveland, GA. In Lieu of flowers contributions may be given in memory of Mrs. Buckalew to the American Heart Association or the American Cancer Society. Barrett Funeral Home of Cleveland is in charge of local arrangements.
