Laurie Mcgowan Sharpe

Mrs. Laurie McGowan Sharpe age 88 of Cleveland passed away Thursday, April 18, 2013 at The Oaks at Scenic View in Baldwin following an extended illness. Mrs. Sharpe was born in Metter, GA the daughter of the late John Morgan and Laura Mercer McGowan. She was preceded in death by her husband, Norris Sharpe. Mrs. Sharpe was retired from Sears and as a receptionist at Regions Bank. She was a member of Cleveland First Baptist Church. Survivors include her son and daughter in law, Greg and Lydia Sharpe, Savannah; daughter and son in law, Linda and George Bartlett, Cleveland; sister, Betty Goswick, Birmingham, AL.; grandchildren, Steve and Shanda Bartlett, Cleveland, Al and Missy Bartlett, Braselton, Sara and Matt Christie, Greenville, SC., Brad Sharpe, Savannah; several great grandchildren and nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday April 21, 2013 at Cleveland First Baptist Church. Dr. Mike Davis and the Rev. Dennis Turner will officiate. Interment will be at Yonah View Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends 6-8 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home.
