Lawayne Satterfield

LaWayne Satterfield, 72, of Cleveland, (formerly of Nashville, TN), passed away Thursday, March 12, 2015 following a period of declining health. Born on December 12, 1942, in Gainesville, GA., LaWayne was the daughter of the late Rev. Ralph and Bonelle Miller Satterfield. She attended North Hall High School, Truett McConnell College and the University of Georgia. She was journalist, having started her career with The Daily Times, Gainesville. In 1967 she moved to Nashville to become Executive Director of the Gospel Music Association, later Editor of the Music City News, and owner of Imaged LT Public Relations Company, in Nashville, TN. She was a member of Tesnatee Baptist Church. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, Randall Satterfield, nephew, Bryan Satterfield. Survivors include her sisters and brothers-in-law, Louise and Rodney Nix, Cleveland; Ronda and John Tinker, Clermont; niece, Nicole and Jay Burkett; nephews, Rod and Selena Nix, Greg Satterfield; great-nieces and nephews, Jon, Nix, Zoe, Aslyn & Bree Burkett, Tripp & Tyla Nix, along with several aunts and cousins. Funeral Services will be at 3:00 PM Monday, March 16, 2015 at Tesnatee Baptist Church. The Rev. Doug Merck and the Rev. Joe Vernon will officiate. Interment will be in the Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6-8 PM Sunday at the funeral home. The family would like to thank the staff of Friendship Nursing and Rehab Facility, especially Elizabeth and Blaine for their superior care. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Cemetery Fund, Tesnatee Baptist Church, PO Box 1425, Cleveland, Ga.30528 or the Shoal Creek Baptist Church Building Fund, 142 Shoal Creek Church Road, Cleveland 30528.
