Leroy Mccallister

Leroy McCallister, age 80, of Mt. Airy, passed away Tuesday, October 6, 2020. Mr. McCallister was born in White County to the late Ozzie and Ella Mae West McCallister. In addition to parents, he was preceded in death by several brothers and sisters. Mr. McCallister was a Crew Foreman for Fieldale. He loved being called “Pa”, he loved his grandchildren, he loved fishing and hunting and Nascar racing. Survivors include son and daughter-in-law, Buck and Elaina McCallister, Murrayville; daughters and sons-in-law, Angie and Bodie Loggins, Lula, and Katie and Eric Drum, Dawsonville; grandchildren, Wesley Satterfield, William Satterfield, Stacie England, Tracy McCallister, Eli Drum, Maks Drum, and Abigail Drum; five great-grandchildren; companion, Lillie Ash, Mt. Airy; brother and sister-in-law, Harold and Judy McCallister, Demorest; and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services are scheduled for 11 A.M. Friday, October 9, 2020 in the Chapel of Barrett Funeral Home. The Rev. Mike Gaines and Rev. Ricky Bell will officiate. Interment will follow in Mount Vernon Holiness Church Cemetery.
