Lillie Jane Sayne

Mrs. Lillie Jane Edwards Sayne age 96 of Clarkesville passed away at her granddaughters residence following an extended illness. Mrs. Sayne was born May 29, 1915 in Dahlonega to the late William Reazy and Martha Elmer Hopper Edwards. She was a homemaker and a member of Wahoo Baptist Church. Mrs. Sayne was preceded in death by her husband Oscar Sayne, daughter,Betty Sue Reese, brothers, Will Edwards, Clarence Edwards, Bud Edwards, Claude Edwards, Dennis Edwards, sister, Bessie Mae Edwards, great-great granddaughter, Emily Elizabeth Brooks. Survivors include her daughter and son-in-law: Bonnie & Bill Summerour, Cleveland: grandchildren and spouses, Susan Ashmore and Edwin Kearns, Dahlonega; Donna and Dewey Mull, Clarkesville; Billie Flanagan and Scott Cherry, Murrayville; Diane and Vaughn Gilleland; Willie and Tina Summerour, all of Cleveland; brother and sister-in-law, Earl and Betty Edwards, Murrayville; sister and brother in law,Geneva and Ernest Pittman; 15 great grandchildren and 26 great-great grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM Thursday, August 4, 2011 in the Chapel of Barrett Funeral home with the Rev. Terry Fields and the Rev. J.R. Fields officiating. Burial will follow in Wahoo Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 1:00 to 8:00 PM on Wednesday at the funeral home.
