Linda Sue Brooks

Linda Sue (Sayne) Brooks, age 75, of Fort Walton Beach, FL, passed away on June 5, 2026.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Ray Sayne; Robbie Standridge; sister, Patricia Ann (Raymond) Harkins. Ms. Brooks is survived by her sister, Angela (Joey) Nicholson of Gainesville, GA; five nieces and nephews, Barbara Hicks of Jefferson, GA; Tim (Cindy) Harkins of Maysville, GA; Amanda Franklin of Maysville, GA; Brandon (Yesi) Standridge of Ft. Walton Beach, FL; Derek (Hunter) Standridge of Canton, GA; seven great-nieces and nephews; eight great-great-nieces and nephews; one great-great-great-nephew; and numerous beloved cousins.

She was born on March 2, 1952, and was raised in Cleveland, GA, until the age of 15.

She attended Shoal Creek school before moving to Rossville, GA. The school in Rossville said she was 2 levels ahead in all her studies.

 After graduating, she pursued a career in bookkeeping.

She retired from AAFES, Army Air Force Exchange Service, where she worked her way from cashier in the shoe department to store manager. She was stationed at many Army/Airforce Bases throughout her career. She loved helping others and was a true friend to many in the US and other countries where she lived. She was an avid bowler and enjoyed all types of crafts and handwork. For many years before and after retiring, she enjoyed selling her afghans, blankets and other handwork at the Maysville, GA Festival each fall with her sister Ann.

A Memorial and Fellowship Service will be held on Saturday, July 18, 2026, at 3 P.M in the Shoal Creek Goodwill Building across from Shoal Creek Baptist Church, Cleveland GA.
