Linda "Joyce" Childress

Linda “Joyce” Childress, age 76, of Cleveland, formerly of Taft, Fl, passed away on Saturday, January 21, 2023. Mrs. Childress was born on August 24,1946 to the late Frank and Dorothy Griner Futch. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Arthur Childress, sisters, Mary Crews, and Martha Brown. Joyce was a homemaker and a dedicated member of Galation Baptist Church and attended Friendship Baptist Church after moving to Georgia. Survivors include daughters and sons-in-law, Stephanie Venters (Scott), Gina Freeland (Greg); sons and daughters-in-law, Steven Creel (Lisa), Glenn Creel (Tena); 11 grandchildren; 11 great grandchildren; sisters, Ruth Newton, Jean Wilson; numerous nieces and nephews. Funeral services are scheduled for 1:00 P.M. Friday, January 27, 2023, at Friendship Baptist Church in Cleveland, Ga. The Rev. Joey Pritchett, Rev. Mark Koger and Rev. Coby Gilleland will officiate. Interment will follow in Friendship Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 12:00 noon until 1:00 P.M. Friday at Friendship Baptist Church, prior to the funeral service.
