Lois Payne Johnson

Lois Payne Johnson, age 80 of Cleveland, passed away on Wednesday, January 16, 2019.   Mrs. Johnson was born on May 16, 1938, in McDowell County, West Virginia, to the late Ballard and Rodie Matney Payne.  She was retired from DeKalb County School System and later worked for Fred’s Peanuts and Ginny’s Fudge. Lois was a member of White Creek Baptist Church and was preceded in death by her husband, John Johnson; son, Nicky Eller; brothers, David Payne, Harold Payne, and Jimmy Payne.   Survivors include her son and daughter-in-law, John and Michele Johnson, Woodstock; daughters, Jan Johnson, Cleveland, and Dinia Hardy, Stafford, VA; grandchildren, Hannah Wilkins, Michael and Christian Owenby, Shelly Conley, Melissa McHayton, Jason Hardy, Bethany Matsumori, Tarra McFadden, Laurie Miller, Ian Eller; brothers, Leslie Payne and Bobby Payne, both of West Virginia; 11 great-grandchildren.   Funeral services are scheduled for 2:00 P.M. Sunday, January 20, 2019 at the Chapel of Barrett Funeral Home.  The Rev. Lewis Fortner will officiate.  Interment will follow in White Creek Baptist Church Cemetery.   The family will receive friends from 5:00 – 7:00 P.M.
