Lola Mae Davis

November 8, 1933 — August 14, 2013

Lola Mae Davis, age 79 of Gainesville, went to her Heavenly home Wednesday, August 14, 2013 at Northeast Georgia Medical Center. Mrs. Davis was born November 8, 1933 in Hall County to the late Rone and Bell Anderson Sullens. She was a homemaker and a member of Mt. Olive Baptist Church. Mrs. Davis was preceded in death by her sweet husband, Charlie Davis; brothers, Lonnie Sullens, Carl Sullens, Stuard Sullens, Junior Sullens, Walter Sullens, Harve Sullens; sisters, Estelle Gable, Lillie Goff, Mattie Peck. Lola’s favorite past time was cooking and eating. She loved her church and was devoted to it until her failing health. She was a strong prayer warrior even after she could no longer attend. She loved to sing and even in her last days she continued to sing her sweet Savior’s praises. She loved her “Girls” and being a great-grandmother to her “Little Man.” She will truly be missed and loved by all. Survivors include her daughter and son-in-law, Judy and Chuck Gilreath, Cleveland; grandchildren, Jana and John Shelton, Cleveland, Katie Gilreath, Cleveland; great-grandson, Cole Shelton, Cleveland; sister, Shirley Peck, Gainesville; devoted friend, Merdis Ellis. A host of other relatives also survive. Funeral services are scheduled for 3:00 PM Friday, August 16, 2013 at Mt. Olive Baptist Church. The Rev. Charles Buice and John Shelton will officiate. Interment will follow at Mt. Olive Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6-8PM Thursday, August 15, 2013 at Barrett Funeral Home.
