Mary Ruth Johnson

Mary Ruth Johnson, age 88, of Helen, passed away on Saturday, February 6, 2016. Mrs. Johnson was born on February 20, 1927 to Mae and Irvin Smith. She is preceded in death by her husband, H.C. Johnson, and brothers Lambertine and Dennis Smith. Mrs. Johnson was a beloved member of her community and her church, Center Baptist, Robertstown. She was a member of the Eastern Star Society. She and her husband were in the gas and grocery business in Helen and Robertstown in the 1960’s and 1970’s. She retired in later years from Orbit Manufacturing. She loved flowers and gardening. She loved her family and will be dearly missed by all. Survivors include son and daughter in law, Ray Neal and Susanne Johnson, Cleveland; son and daughter in law, Stan and Lainie Johnson, Helen; daughter and son in law, Jennifer and Randy Walworth, Ringold; grandchildren, Ashley Johnson, Clay Johnson, Stephen Johnson, John Johnson, Nikhoma Johnson, and Mary Beth Walworth; great grandchildren, Emma Johnson, Campbell Johnson, Lizzie Johnson, Jack Johnson, Jolie Johnson, Arden Johnson, and River Dockins. Funeral services are scheduled for 2 pm Thursday, February 11, 2016, from Center Baptist Church. The Rev. Michael Wilkes will officiate. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. Mrs. Johnson will lie in state from 1:30 – 2:00 PM Thursday at the church. The family will receive friends from 2-4 and 6-8 pm Wednesday at the Funeral Home.
