Mary Ruth Winkler

Mary Ruth “Nanny Ruth” Winkler, age 98, of Cleveland, passed away on Tuesday, August 23, 2022. Mrs. Winkler was born on September 24, 1923, in Cleveland, Georgia, to the late Virgil and Mary Lloyd Ramey. She was a homemaker. In addition to her parents, Ruth was preceded in death by her husband and father of her children, Pat Dixon; husband, Fred Winkler; siblings, Jack Ramey, Dewey Ramey, Herbert Ramey, R.B. Ramey, Harold Ramey, Betty Sue Freeman, Ruby Ravan; great-grandson, Dristen Dixon. Survivors include her children, Judy and Richard Hester, Charles and Penny Dixon, Sue and Bruce White, and Gary Dixon; grandchildren, Dennis Dixon, Kelly White-Bryant, Amanda Dixon-Martin (Barron), Christian Dixon Densmore (Ryan), Lacey White-Garcia (Alan), Brandon Dixon, and Cody Dixon; several great-grandchildren also survive. The family would like to express their gratitude for Ruth’s special friends and caregivers, Lee Zahalka and Sheila Cantrell. Funeral services are scheduled for 2:00 P.M. Friday, August 26, 2022, at The Chapel of Barrett Funeral Home. The Rev. Les Fuller and the Rev. Ross Sparks will officiate. Interment will follow in Mt. Pleasant United Methodist Church Cemetery.
