Mary Turpen Clyatt

Mrs. Mary Turpen Clyatt, age 87, of Demorest, passed away Tuesday, May 17, 2011 at Habersham Homes in Demorest following an extended illness. Mrs. Clyatt was born April 5, 1924 to the late Claude and Effie Turpen and was also preceded in death by her husband, Robert Clyatt, brothers, Marvin Turpen and J.C. Turpen and sister Mildred Turpen. She was member of First Baptist Church of Cleveland and was in the WMU. Survivors include: daughter and son in law: Vickie and Craig Deal, Buford; granddaughter and husband: Jennifer and Justin Briskey, Duluth; grandson: Jared Deal, Buford; great grandson: Westin Briskey, Duluth; sister: Ruth Vaughn, Demorest. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 pm Thursday, May 19, 2011 from the Chapel of Barrett Funeral Home with the Rev. Dennis Turner officiating. Burial will follow in the Level Grove Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 9:00 on Wednesday.
