Mary Coarsey Tyson

Mrs. Mary Coarsey Tyson age 87 of Mt. Airy passed away Friday February 6, 2009 at Habersham County Medical Center following an extended illness. Mrs. Tyson was born in Tift County the daughter of the late Nathaniel and Nora Lee Partin Coarsey. She was preceded in death by her husband, Rev. J. T. Tyson. Mrs Tyson was a homemaker and a School Teacher. She was a member of Hills Crossing Baptist Church. Survivors include her son and daughter in law, Travis and Clydine Tyson, Dalton; daughters and sons in law, Myra and Tom Mitchell, Dalton, Nell Doris and Dr. Charles Harris, Mt. Airy, Lynne and Ken Hise, Mt. Airy; sister, Grace McKinney, Macon; 10 grandchildren, 17 great grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m. Sunday February 8, 2009 at Hills Crossing Baptist Church. The Rev. Walter Singletary and Dr. Joe Vernon will officiate. Burial will follow in Yonah View Memorial Gardens with the Rev. Doug Merck and the Rev. Dennis Turner officiating. The family will receive friends 5-8 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home.
