Maybell Head, age 89 of Cleveland, passed away January 12, 2014 at Westside Terrace in Dothan, Alabama. Ms. Head was born September 7, 1924, in Cleveland, Ga, to the late Alex and Cora Bell Kanady Stringer. She was preceded in death by her husband, Ewell Head; daughter, Winnell McMillian; sisters, Maudell Thomas, Willie Lou Thomas; and brother, Junior Stringer. Survivors include daughter and son-in-law, Margie and Larry Kinney, Headland, AL; son, Howell Head, Cleveland; son-in-law, Gordon (Nancy) McMillian, Cleveland; grandchildren, Deanna (Lamar) Watford, David (Julie) Kinney, Toby Head, David (Jenny) McMillian, Brent (Joleen) McMillian, Nicholas (Natalie) McMillian, Kristine McMillian; sisters, Dorothy Smith, Gracie Nix, Geneva Taylor. Funeral services are scheduled for Wednesday, January 15, 2014, at 2:00 P.M. in the chapel of Barrett Funeral Home. The Rev. Chris Anderson will officiate. Interment will follow at Mt. Zion Baptist Church No. 2 Cemetery. . The family will receive friends from 6-8 P.M. Tuesday at the funeral home.
