Melinda Sue Stone

Mrs. Melinda Sue Matthews Stone, age 83, of Sautee Nacoochee, Georgia, passed away Tuesday, March 19, 2024. Mrs. Stone was born in Weston, WV, to the late Franklin S. and Lena Norris Matthews. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by son, Timothy Stone; grandson, Matthew E. Stone; and sister, Sally Matthews Wessner. Mrs. Stone received her Master’s Degree from Florida Atlantic University. She was an educator for the Indian River County School District in Florida and a member of Nacoochee Methodist Church in Sautee Nacoochee, Georgia. Survivors include her husband, Patrick Stone, Sautee Nacoochee; daughter, Melinda S. Stone and husband, Sandy Sanders, Eugene, Oregon; son, Patrick E. Stone II, Baldwin, Georgia; grandchildren, Timothy G. Stone II and Melinda S. Cox; daughters-in-law, Lori Stone, Columbia, South Carolina, and Malisa Stone, Baldwin, Georgia; 3 great-grandchildren. Memorial services are scheduled for 3:00 PM Friday, April 12th, 2024, from the Chapel of Barrett Funeral Home. Reverend Keith Windmiller will officiate.
