Melville E Potter, Jr.

Melville E. Potter, Jr., age 93, passed away on November 17, 2018 in Mesa, Arizona.  Mel was born on April 9, 1925 in Owensboro, Kentucky to the late Mel Potter, Sr. and Thelma Eidee Potter.   Mel worked for 3M Business Products and he was a veteran of the United States Navy.  His hobbies were traveling in his RV and sky diving at 85 and 90 years old.  He was a locksmith and was in Hotel Management.  He loved crafts and playing tennis up until his death.   Mel is preceded in death by his wife, Margaret Henshaw Potter, his daughter, Paula Potter, and his grandson Matt Dixon.   Survivors include, his daughter, Pam Dixon, Cleveland, Georgia; grandsons, Mark Dixon, Athens, Georgia, and Dane Potter, Cleveland, Georgia; sister, Janet Fessler, Bushnell, Florida; and numerous nieces and nephews.   Mel’s wish was to be cremated and buried beside his grandson Matt in Gateway Memory Park in a private ceremony.   To leave a message or condolence for the family, visit www.barrettfh.com.   Barrett Funeral Home, Cleveland, Georgia.
