Mrs. Mervin Inez Ledden Caudell, age 86 of Cleveland went home to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Thursday, March 15, 2007 at her residence.
Born in Randolph County, Georgia on March 01, 1921, she was the daughter of the late Lafluer Harrison (L.H.) and Allie Mae Williams Caudell. Mrs. Caudell was the founder of the Georgia Mountain Arts & Crafts, where she taught ceramics for many years and was also recognized for being 3rd in the Nation. Mrs. Caudell was also an avid painter and her oil paintings hung in the White County Court House for many years. She founded the Helping Hands Ministry, was an ordained minister, a Licensed Practical Nurse, loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, friend, a member of the Poet’s Association, and a member of the Zion Interdenominational Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, Bennie J. Caudell and a grandson, Daniel Norris.
Survivors include her son and daughter-in-law, James B. and Velvie C. Caudell, Cleveland; daughters and son-in-laws, Brenda Louise and David Harold Bramlett, Toccoa; Esther Mae and William Joseph Conley, Sr., Cleveland; Iris Zulene and Jeff Cathey, Sautee; grandchildren, Keith Caudell, Michael Caudell, Kelly Caudell, Allison Caudell, all of Cleveland; Sonya Nelson, Michigan; Loren Zane Norris, Cleveland; Christy Inez Adams, Cleveland; James Dudley Brewington, Commerce; Iris Elizabeth Tonogan, Cleveland; Jeff-Lee Williams, Blake Poole, Raven Villatoro, all of Gainesville; and 18 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services are scheduled for 2:00 p.m. Sunday, March 18, 2007 from the Chapel of Barrett Funeral Home. The Rev. Aubrey McIntyre will officiate. Burial will follow in the Zion Interdenominational Church Cemetery.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 2-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. on Saturday.
