Michele Akers

Michele Catherine Akers, age 32, of Cleveland, passed away on Tuesday, June 15, 2021. Mrs. Akers was born on September 6, 1988, in Dahlonega, Georgia, to Sherry Taylor York and the late Troy Lee York. She was a homemaker. Michele was preceded in death by her father, Troy Lee York; grandparents, Junior Lamar Taylor, Mozelle York, and Floyd York. Survivors include her husband, Brandon Akers; mother, Sherry York; sons, Hayden Lamar Akers and Jermiah Karnell Akers; sister, Santana Lee York; sister and brother-in-law, Grace and Nick Carlisle; brother, Joshua Isaiah York; grandmother, Lola Bell Taylor; nephew, Bralin Dorsey; aunts and uncles, David Crate Taylor, Floyiet Taylor, Terry Jo and Ronnie Trimble; mother-in-law, Marcine Shealer; several aunts, uncles, and cousins also survive. Funeral services are scheduled for 3:00 P.M. Friday, June 18, 2021, at the Chapel of Barrett Funeral Home. The Rev. Kenneth Taylor and the Rev. Dennis Taylor will officiate. Interment will follow at Taylor Family Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 4:00 – 8:00 P.M. Thursday at the funeral home.
