Mildred Smith Hood

Funeral services will be held at 11 A.M. Thursday July 19, 2007 at Cleveland First Baptist Church for Mrs. Mildred Smith Hood age 76 of Cleveland. The Rev. Jack Pierce, the Rev. Tim Barrett, the Rev. Dennis Turner and Dr. Sami Ammari will officiate. The body will be placed in the church at 10:30 A.M. Interment will be in Gateway Memory Park. The family will receive friends 6-9 P.M. Wednesday at the funeral home. Mrs. Hood passed away Tuesday July 17, 2007 at her residence following an extended illness. Mrs. Hood was born in White County the daughter of the late Melvin Young Smith and Cora West Smith. She was preceded in death by her husband, Tom C. Hood, sisters, Helen Smith, Jimmie Nell Cole, brothers, Hoyt Smith, Rev. Paul Smith and Lee Smith. Mrs. Hood was a member of Cleveland First Baptist Church and was retired from Regions Bank in Cleveland. Survivors include her daughter and son in law, Beverly and Bradley Greene, Cleveland; son and daughter in law, Graham and Jill Hood, Cooper City, FL.; son and fiancée, Ryan Hood and Carrie Walrond, Atlanta; brothers, Bill Smith, Jack Smith, both of Cleveland, Charles Smith, Shreveport, LA.; grandchildren, Aaron and Stacey Greene, Cumming, Cam Greene, Cleveland, Taylor Hood, Cooper City, FL.; great grandson, Parker Greene, Cumming; sister in laws, Edna Hood, Buford, Irene Hood, Dahlonega, Mary Hood, Demorest, Lunette Hood, Gainesville;brother in law, Max Cole, Columbia, SC; brother in law and sister in law, John and Myrtice Hood, Gainesville: special caregivers, Rebecca Yearwood, Deloris Tolhurst, and Melanie Hegamyer.
