Mildred Ruth Lancaster

Mildred Ruth Lancaster, age 103, of Cleveland, passed away on Thursday, February 19, 2026.

Mrs. Lancaster was born on June 8, 1922, in White County, to the late Loy and Eva Carpenter Skelton. She was the owner and florist of the original Cleveland Florist and operated it until her retirement. Ruth was a member of Mossy Creek United Methodist Church. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husbands, Lonnie Potts and J.W. Lancaster; daughter, Carol Bryan; sisters, Willie Mae Humphries, Monteen Wilson, Jeanette Green, and Jean Pardue, brothers, Rondall Skelton, Ray Skelton, and L.A. Skelton.

The family would like to give a special thanks to Dr. Trail, the staff of Habersham County Medical Center, Dr. Wiley Newton and Sherry Craven, the staff at Northeast Georgia Physicians Group Cleveland, Caritas Hospice, and Laurel Lodge, mom’s temporary home after 71 years. In addition, the family would like to thank Meals on Wheels, especially Lisa.

Survivors include her daughter, Debbie Craven; sons, Ronnie Potts and Gary Potts; grandchildren, Kelby Craven, Kylee Craven (Desiree), Sara Loudermilk (Bryan), and Nathan McIntyre; great-grandchildren, Cohen, Ansleigh, Kasen, Mabel Rose, Sadie, Hazel, Ruth Belle, and Isaac James; brother, Crawford Skelton (Ann).

Funeral services are scheduled for 2 P.M. Monday, February 23, 2026, at The Chapel of Barrett Funeral Home. The Rev. Gary Wilson will officiate. Interment will follow in Mossy Creek United Methodist Church Cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 12:00 – 2:00 P.M. Monday at the funeral home, prior to the funeral service.
