Mildred Payne

Mildred Kimsey Payne, age 93, passed away on Monday, December 30, 2013 at her residence in Robertstown. Ms. Payne was born December 24, 1920 in Robertstown, GA to the late Oscar Herschel and Gertrude Adams Kimsey. A graduate of North Georgia College, she served her country as a civil employee at Robbins Army Air Base during World War II. She lived several years in Macon and retired from Dennis & Dennis Architects. She was also an active member at Center Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, Guy Payne; brothers, Cread, Latt, Cecil, and Bill Kimsey; sisters, Mary Lou Kimsey and Jessie Anderson. Survivors include several nieces and nephews: Martha Bolinger, Brunswick; William and Marti Kimsey, Robertstown; Joe and Mertice Kimsey, Robertstown; Janice and Curtis Ledford, Cleveland; Gayle and Gary Harper, Morganton; Dot Aiken, Robertstown; as well as several great nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday January 2, 2014 at Center Baptist Church. The Rev. Michael Wilkes and Rev. Henry Loggins will officiate. Interment will follow at the church cemetery. Mrs. Payne will lie in state and the family will receive friends from 1-2pm Thursday at the church. In lieu of flowers, contributions in memory of Mildred Payne may be made to Center Baptist Church Building Fund or to the Lottie Moon Christmas Offering for International Missions at the church at 109 Elrod Rd.
