Minnie Bell Bentley

Mrs. Minnie Bell Bentley, age 94, of Cleveland, passed away Sunday, December 6, 2009 at her residence following an extended illness. Funeral services are scheduled for 11 A.M. Tuesday, December 8, 2009 from Chattahoochee Baptist Church. The Rev. Verner London, Rev. Bill Gravley, Rev. Loyd Martin, and Rev. Bobby Burke will officiate. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 4-9 P.M. Monday at the funeral home. Granny Bentley was born in White County on March 17, 1915 to the late James Aaron and Nancy Elizabeth Turner Sutton. She is also preceded in death by her husband, Bill Bentley; brothers, Clifford Sutton and Hershel Sutton. Granny Bentley was known for her love of family, her church, and a host of friends. Many people have enjoyed the benefits of her good cooking and sharp wit. She was a homemaker and a long time member of Chattahoochee Baptist Church. Survivors include her daughters and sons in law, Lanette and Richard Smith, Sautee; Lucy and Myer Westmoreland, Cleveland; sons and daughters in law, Donald and Joyce Bentley, Cleveland; Ed and Joyce Bentley, Cleveland; Jerry and Meryl Bentley, Gainesville; 11 grandchildren, 28 great grandchildren and 8 great great grandchildren.
