Miriam Louise Vandiver

Miriam Louise Vandiver, age 87, of Lula, passed away on Thursday, July 2, 2026.

Mrs. Vandiver was born on November 2, 1938, in Cleveland, Georgia, to the late Rev. Asa Dorsey and Annie Kate Palmer Dorsey. She was a retired nurse and a member of Mossy Creek United Methodist Church, where she sang in the choir. In addition to her parents, Miriam was preceded in death by her husband, Dan Vandiver; and siblings, Leethel Dorsey, Desma Love, Thandal Dorsey, and Bradley Dorsey.

Survivors include her sons and daughters-in-law, Bruce Vandiver, Larry and Dana Vandiver, Lawrence and Jennifer Vandiver; grandchildren, Seth and Miranda Vandiver, Ethan and Katrina Vandiver, Brooke Vandiver, Justin Vandiver, and Megan Vandiver; 8 great grandchildren; siblings, Trilla and LC Pruitt, Fonda and Allen Riley, Sharell and Sherill Dorsey, and Phillip and Cheryl Dorsey.

Funeral services are scheduled for 2:00 P.M. Tuesday, July 7, 2026, at The Chapel of Barrett Funeral Home. Interment will follow in Mossy Creek United Methodist Church Cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 12:00 – 2:00 P.M. Tuesday at the funeral home, prior to the funeral service.
