Mr. Billy Gene Tipton

Mr. Billy Gene Tipton, age 71 of Clarkesville, passed away on Tuesday, July 31, 2007 at the Emory University Hospital in Atlanta following an extended illness. Born in White County, Georgia on April 24, 1936, he was the son of the late John Kimsey and Hortence Rognan Tipton. Mr. Tipton was retired from American Airlines as a Fleet Service Clerk with over 35 years of service. He was preceded in death by his brother, Joe Tipton. Survivors include his wife, Peggy Tipton, Clarkesville; son, Jeff Tipton, Cleveland; daughter and son-in-law, Sheri and Stacy Berrong, Demorest; sisters and brother-in-laws, Virginia and Charles Collins, Rome; Mickey and J.T. Wilson, Hiawassee; sister, Joyce Duckett, Decatur; brother and sister-in-law, Tony and Georgie Lou Tipton, Clarkesville; brother, Isaac Tipton, Costa Mesa, CA; sister-in-law, Nina Sue Tipton, Hiawassee; grandchildren, Jason Tipton, Puyallup, Washington; Robert Gene Berrong, Demorest; several nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. A memorial service will be held at 1:30 p.m. on Saturday, August 04, 2007 at Union Baptist Church. The Rev. Dave Fortner will officiate. Mr. Tipton’s wishes were to be cremated.
