Mr. William J. Mclendon

Mr. William J. McLendon age 84 of Cleveland passed away Monday January 28, 2008 at Northeast Georgia Medical Center in Gainesville. Mr. McLendon was born in Columbus, Georgia on April 25, 1923 the son of the late William Jasper McLendon, II and Helen Denton McLendon. He was preceded in death by his wife, Velma Chambers McLendon and daughter, Suzanne Estes. Mr. McLendon was a member of Helen First Baptist Church and was a Veteran serving in the U.S. Army. Survivors include daughter, Helen McLendon Winkler, Cleveland; sons and daughters-in-law, Billy and Freida McLendon, Cleveland; Jeff and Angie McLendon, Gainesville; brother-in-law, Lanier Chambers, Cleveland; 4 grandchildren, 2 great grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at 11 A.M. Wednesday January 30, 2008 from the Chapel of Barrett Funeral Home. The Rev. Jeff Hutcheson will officiate. Burial will follow in Yonah View Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends 6-9 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
