Mrs. Olga Cortez, age 85 of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania passed away on Monday, May 19, 2008 following a brief illness.
Born on August 02, 1922, Mrs. Cortez was a retiree from the Philadelphia School District and spent a lifetime nurturing her family. Olga’s final message was to tell them that I love them all. Throughout her life she personified sweetness, compassion, and love. Her passing creates a void in her family’s soul which will be filled by fond memories of who she was and the lasting impression that she made on all whom she came into contact. She was preceded in death by her son-in-law, John Puszewski.
Survivors include her son and daughter-in-law, Dr. Emilio G. and Patricia Cortez, PA; daughter, Deanna Puszewski, Cleveland, GA; grandchildren, Karen and Wade Ethredge, Lawrenceville; Gregory Young and his fiancé, Rachael Clark, Hopkinton, MA; Kristen Cortez, Carl Cortez; great-grandchildren, Alexis Aaron Ethredge, Amber Rose Ethredge, Brooke Taylor Ethredge, all of Lawrenceville, GA; Allison Harmony Young, Elizabeth Faith Young, both of Suwanee, GA; Nicholas Adam Clark, Hopkinton, MA; and a host of other relatives and friends.
A commemorative memorial mass will be held at St. Mark’s Catholic Church in Clarkesville, Georgia at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, May 24, 2008. Inurnment will be at Yonah View Memorial Gardens in Cleveland following the service.
