Mrs. Thelma Irene Alexander, age 83 of Cleveland passed away Thursday April 17, 2008 at Limestone Heritage following an extended illness.
Mrs. Alexander was born in White County, Georgia on February 19, 1925 the daughter of the late John and Alma Freeman Goss. She was a homemaker and member of New Bridge Baptist Church. Mrs. Alexander was preceded in death by her husband, Coy Alexander, son, Homer Alexander, brothers, James and Arthur Goss and sisters, Mildred Stone and Beatrice Autry.
Survivors include son and daughter in law, Herbert and Ann Alexander, Cleveland; sisters, Pearl Blackburn, Hazel Marcus, both of Cornelia, Annie Helton, Gainesville; brother, Joe Goss, Cornelia; grandchildren, Karen Sosebee, Sharon Alexander, both of Cleveland, Trina Almand, Athens; great grandchildren, Stacia McCallister, Kiley Sosebee; great great granddaughter, Kaley McCallister.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday April 19, 2008 at the Chapel of Barrett Funeral Home. The Rev. Milton Harris, the Rev. Bill Trotter, the Rev. Kenneth Pilcher and the Rev. Chris Alexander will officiate. Interment will be in New Bridge Baptist Church Cemetery.
The family will receive friends 5-9 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
