Myrtie Elizabeth Thompson, age 83 of Clermont, passed away Thursday, July 7, 2011 at her residence. Mrs. Thompson was born August 19, 1927 in Gainesville, GA to the late Gertrude Gee. She was employed by Belk. Mrs. Thompson was preceded in death by her husband, Benjamin Thompson and son, Jerry Thompson. Survivors include her son, Charles Thompson, Clermont; daughter, Elisha Helman, Hiawassee; sisters, Virginia England; Wanda Tysor, Sue Sheffield, all of Gainesville; 5 grandchildren and 1 great-grandchild.
