Mrs. Myrtle Mae Wike Wheeler age 97 of Cleveland passed away Wednesday August 24, 2011 at Friendship Healthcare following an extended illness. Mrs. Wheeler was born in Rabun County the daughter of the late Charles Gene Wike and Ida Mae Black Wike. She was also preceded in death by her husband George Dewey Wheeler; daughter , Laveda Jean Wheeler; brothers: C.G. Wike and Lawrence Wike; sisters: Willene Wike and Lorene Thomason. She was a life time resident of White County and a member of Emmanuel Gospel Fellowship. Survivors include brother and sister in law, Berlin and Bobbie Wike, Cleveland; sisters, Christine McCullom, Sautee Louise Piano, Sautee, Wynell Anderson, McDonough and Yvonne Hix, Sautee; sister and brother in law: Imogene and Hoyt Autry, Cleveland and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM Friday, August 26, 2011 at the Barrett Funeral Home Chapel. The Rev. Dave Fortner, the Rev. Gary Heffner and Sister Betty Wilson will officiate. Interment will be in Mt. View Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends 6 to 8 PM Thursday at the funeral home. Online condolences may be made to the family at barrettfh.com.
