Naomi Cockerham

Naomi Stewart Cockerham, age 93, of Cleveland, passed away on Wednesday, March 8, 2023. Mrs. Cockerham was born on February 15, 1930, in Detroit, Michigan, to the late Donald and Wrintress Hill Stewart. She was a retired educator in Hall County and a member of Friendship Baptist Church. In addition to her parents, Naomi was preceded in death by her husband of 68 years, Rev. C.V. “Bill” Cockerham; sons, John Cockerham and Dennis Cockerham. Survivors include her sons and daughters-in-law, Donald and Phyllis Cockerham, Cleveland, and Steve and Lisa Cockerham, Blairsville; grandchildren, Jeffrey Cockerham, Katie Cockerham, Dennis Cockerham II, Stewart Evan Cockerham, Sara Elizabeth Kaufman (Jeff), Samuel Cockerham; daughter-in-law, Nancy Cockerham; special friend, Sheila Shaw; sister, Jessie Johnson, Tampa, FL; brother, David Stewart, Midland, TX; many other family and friends also survive. Funeral services are scheduled for 1:00 P.M. Saturday, March 11, 2023, at Friendship Baptist Church. The Rev. Joey Pritchett will officiate. Interment will follow in Oakwood City Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 12:00 – 1:00 P.M. Saturday at the church, prior to the funeral service.
